Take inspiration from some of our great treasures in our Sir John Ritblat Treasures Gallery. Create your own dazzling and unique Illuminated Letter in this artist-led workshop for the whole family.

Come and listen to the specially-formed 'Friday Afternoon Choir' who are performing Benjamin Britten's much-loved suite of children's songs. The choir is made up of members from three of Camden Music Services choirs: The Camden Youth Choir, Camjam Voices and The New Foundling Children's Choir.

Beware the final movement when the audience will be invited to join in!

There will be a rehearsal at 17.00.

FREE FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Create
Help our artists build a spectacular GIANT Jack in the Green, then get busy with a variety of fabulous folk inspired art activities. 
Activities drop in from 11am - 4pm 
Throughout the library

Dance Workshops
Try out your morris and maypole dancing skills in our family friendly workshops Accompanied by live music 
Morris dancing at 2pm 
Maypole dancing at 11.30am and 1pm and 3pm 
Workshop tokens available at The Full English Information Desk one hour before the workshops start.


Make Music
At 2pm bring your family and bring your instruments, we’ve unearthed ‘Buttered Peas’ from the archive and need you to bring it to the 21st century! This tune has been taught in primary schools across Camden – so you may have a head start! Take part in the mass performance of the piece at 4pm. 
This event is free, but you need to have a ticket as there is a restriction on the numbers we can fit in the venue. You can reserve a free ticket in advance from the British Library Box Office.

Sing
At 3pm join in our special Family Singing workshop for all ages. We’ll be learning a song from the archives called Acre of Land which has been taught in primary schools across Camden – so you may have a head
start! Take part in the mass performance of the song at 4pm.  
Workshop tokens available at The Full English Information Desk one hour before the workshops start.

Look and Listen
From 12noon to 3pm Come and watch energetic traditional folk dance displays from Thrales Rapper (watch out for their swords), Camden Clog and the celebrated Hammersmith Morris Men.

Listen to live performances from Cecil Sharp House Choir, the London Fiddle School and the Royal College of Music Junior Department Chamber Choir.

Grande Finale
At 4pm, take part in The Full English Procession and Ceilidh in the Piazza. Some activities are weather dependant.
